Not if you're looking for bright lights, discos, casinos or traffic. You won't find lots of tourist there either. In fact, the boats calling on the local port are more likely to have two or three fishermen than the 1,200-1,500 shoppers that disgorge from cruise ships at many other tropical destinations.

But in this remote fishing village, only 6 miles north of Mexico's border with Belize, you will find coconut palms on white sand beaches edging gentle water that's six shades of blue. And a place where you can enjoy excellent bird watching, fishing, snorkeling and diving, both locally and off shore at the famed Chinchorro Banks. And you'll find isolation, splendid isolation.
